Wednesday, June 4, 2008 11:45 am - 1:15 pm
The Grove Hotel, Boise

From clotheslines to reactor cores, energy issues shift ceaselessly across a broad and increasingly complex landscape. Mid-way through his second term, Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden makes his first City Club appearance to discuss this landscape and report on the 2008 National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Presidential Initiative on Energy.

As part of this initiative, Wasden, who is NAAG president, organized and hosted a conference in Coeur d’Alene, May 5–7, to educate state Attorneys General on energy issues so they can provide dynamic legal advice to governors, legislators and other state policy makers. Wasden will share key information from top energy insiders in industry, government, science and law.

Lawrence Wasden earned 62 percent of the vote in his 2006 race. An 18-year veteran of the AG’s office, he was a founder and chair of the Idaho State Bar’s Government and Public Lawyers section, serves on the BSU Department of Criminal Justice Advisory Council and was honored by the Idaho Newspaper Foundation in 2007 for educating local officials, media and the public on Open Meeting and Public Records laws.

Wasden holds a J.D. from the University of Idaho and a B.A. in political science from Brigham Young University.
