The economy is on everyone's mind, with capital markets in turmoil and questions abounding about how to invest in this fast-changing world. Does the current economic environment represent a normal retrenchment, the beginning of a new era or a bit of both?

With more than $11 billion invested for nearly 70,000 members and 30,612 retirees, the Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) is the largest investor in Idaho and one of the top-performing institutional funds in the world: In FY2007, PERSI reported a 20.03-percent return on investment. PERSI CIO Bob Maynard and two senior global institutional directors of large international money managers will discuss developing markets, driving factors for housing and credit crises, and today's global economy and capital markets.

Bob Maynard, Boise, a former City Club board member, joined PERSI as CIO in 1992. He graduated from Claremont Men’s College and received his J.D. from U.C. Davis Law School.
Saker Nusseibeh, Boston, joined Fortis Investments in 2005 as CIO Global Equities. His B.A. and Ph.D. are from King’s College, London University.
Henry D’Auria, New York, was named Bernstein’s CIO Emerging Markets Value Equities in 2002 and co-CIO of International Value Equities in 2003. He earned a B.A. from Trinity College.
