President Staben has focused the university's research mission on "ideas that matter"- discovery and innovation that expands our knowledge of the world and changes how we live. He has committed to building a team at the University of Idaho where the best and brightest faculty and staff come together to help the university and our state reach new heights. President Staben also leads UI's fundraising mission, and recently the university successfully concluded the Inspiring Future: Invest in the University of Idaho campaign, which created 153 new student scholarships and 20 new faculty endowments, positioning the university to deliver excellence in teaching and learning for years to come. Since he became president, the university budget has improved while tuition increased by the lowest percentage in 10 years.
