Speakers: Gov. Jim Risch and First Lady Vicki Risch |
The Honorable Jim Risch became Idaho’s 31st governor on May 26, 2006, filling the final seven months of Gov. Dirk Kempthorne’s term, but the Risches are hardly new to Idaho politics. Jim Risch served 22 years in the Senate, 18 of them in leadership positions, and three years as lieutenant governor. Vicki Risch has been active in the Republican party.
While his term in office has been short, Gov. Risch has proven to be far from a caretaker, making significant changes in key staff and agency leadership and pursuing a number of political initiatives. Please join us as we hear from the Governor and First Lady about their time in office.
Jim Risch attended the University of Idaho, earning a bachelor’s degree in forestry in 1965 and a law degree in 1968. He practices law and engages in farming, ranching and small business.
Vicki Risch, a community volunteer for more than 30 years, has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Bishop Kelly High School and other philanthropic projects. She also has advocated for strong and healthy families.
