Idaho Power is celebrating its 100th year anniversary, and while CEO Anderson reflects on the company's past, he is busy planning for the future. All power companies face challenges including restrictions on fossil fuels, impacts of climate change, and the need to integrate power from a wide range of independent producers.
At this lunch forum on Thursday, June 16, Anderson will discuss how Idaho Power plans to continue to meet the energy needs of the public in an ever-changing regulatory environment. He will also talk about energy efficiency and sustainability.
Darrel Anderson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of IDACORP and Idaho Power. Anderson began working for Idaho Power in 1996 (and IDACORP since its inception in 1998). Since then, his positions with the company have included controller, vice president of finance, treasurer, chief financial officer, senior vice president and executive vice president of Administration.
A graduate of Oregon State University, Anderson has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance, and has completed the Harvard Graduate School of Business Advance Management Program. He serves on the boards of St. Alphonsus Health System and the Women's and Children's Alliance.
