Join City Club of Boise for a special after-hours visit to the Idaho Humane Society! The Idaho Humane Society (IHS) is Idaho’s oldest and largest animal welfare organization and veterinary charity. Each year the IHS shelters and cares for between 13,000-14,000 domestic animals of all types. The shelter’s medical center provides medical care and low-cost spay & neuter surgeries for thousands more.
This tour will give a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of IHS shelter and veterinary medical center. IHS CEO, Dr. Jeff Rosenthal will speak about exciting future plans. Dee Fugit, the IHS Adoption and Behavior Service Director, will talk about the shelter’s unique Inmate Dog Alliance Project of Idaho. A program that gives shelter dogs a second chance through training and socialization by inmates at three local prisons.
