About the Event

City Club Hidden Histories: The Basque Experience in Idaho - REGISTER HERE

Join us for a City Club Hidden Histories event on the Basque Block! Immerse yourself in the vibrant art, history, and culture of Boise's Basque community with a private tour of the Basque Museum, the historic Anduiza fronton, and the Cyrus Jacobs/Uberuaga House.

We'll conclude the afternoon with a gathering at Ansots, where we’ll enjoy a light dinner of tapas. Dan Ansotegui, owner of Ansots and a key figure in Boise's Basque scene, will share stories about the evolution of the Basque Block and its cultural significance. Dr. John Bieter, historian and co-author of  “Arborglyphs – Basque immigrant sheepherders left their marks on aspen trees in the American West” will join us to share more.

Special thanks to CapEd for sponsoring this tour.

Date: Wednesday, October 9th

Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
